On February 26, 2019, the mayor of Kremenchug, Vitaly Maletsky, together with his deputy Ruslan Protsenko, and the head of the youth policy department, Vitaly Cornflower, met with the best representatives of the city’s student community, noted for the high achievements in educational activities and social work with city council grants.
Mayor Vitaly Maletsky noted that the practice of stimulating talented and active youth in our city has existed since 1998. In the first year of this initiative, a city council scholarship was awarded to a student who now resides in America and has a Ph.D. At that time, the city council scholarship was an insignificant amount of 50 UAH. Now it has been increased several dozen times. Communicating with the youth, the head of the city noted that, together with the changes that were taking place in the financing of the city council scholarships, there were also significant changes in the program itself to stimulate the Kremenchug youth. In particular, several years ago, it was decided to provide financial support at the expense of the city budget not only for excellent students, but also for those young people who have an active life position, a high level of social responsibility and participate in social activities.
During the meeting, students together with city leaders discussed issues and problems of local importance. After that, young Kremenchuzhans were presented with documents for obtaining scholarships of the city council. Among such young people was a student of the department of electrical machines and apparatus of the Kremenchug National University. M. Ostrogradsky – Bogdan Guliy.
